Personality & Traits
General Overview | Diana is rather bright and chipper. Almost obnoxiously so. It take a lot to get her down, yet she bounces back with a rapidity that is astonishing to behold.
Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: excellent pilot! I mean, why would Starfleet send an inexperienced Junior Grade Lieutenant to head the Flight Department of a mid-sized cruiser if she couldn't at least fly the thing like it was a fighter? Weaknesses: Diana is overly optimistic. She always sees the good in people, even if it's not really there. She's learning, sometimes the hard way, that not everyone is as well-meaning as she likes to think. |
|
Ambitions | Neo-constitutions are slick. Excellsior II's are well balanced. But the BIG ships, like the Odyssey class, are the ones she dreams of getting her fingers on. True, most times the helmsman just makes the ship go from Point A to Point B, which is rather boring, but there are those rare occasions where the Helm gets to really spread her ships wings.
Hobbies & Interests | Diana can be found often in the Holodeck, exploring the various flight simulators of modern vessels (including those of other Interstellar nations and polities) as well as those of prior, less technologically developed eras. |
Personal History | Diana was born to spacers. They weren't Starfleet, but rather merchants, plying the space lanes with cargo holds stuffed full of all manner of things. They just happened to be at Earth Spacedock when she was born, so Diana can legally say she's Terran despite not having any claim to a particular bit of real estate on the surface of the Earth. She doesn't mind this, as she thinks it brings her closer to everyone. Despite her parents wanting her to join their shipping company, Diana instead chose to join Starfleet, enrolling as soon as she was able. Her Academy performance was boosted by her experiences aboard her parents ship, the SS Thorn. During Frontier Day, Diana was on Earth. She was among those who had been affected by the Borg Control. Thankfully the older, level-headed personnel in her vicinity chose to employ non-lethal force to contain the sudden threat. Diana still has scars from the entire ordeal, though hers are deep and of the non-physical kind. She uses her (admittedly limited) experience to help inform her interactions with the few Former Borg within the Federation Borders; kinship builds empathy and understanding. |
